You are warmly invited to attend ACF Boroondara's final meeting for the year, which promises to be very special.

Guest Speaker

We have been lucky enough to secure Luke Chamberlain from Environmental Justice Australia (EJA) as our guest speaker.  Luke is an incredibly knowledgeable and engaging speaker and has worked for decades as a forest campaigner.   He has worked in the European Union on forest and climate legislation and was central to building the alliance of over 1200 NGOs fighting to protect forests from being burnt for so-called 'renewable energy'.

Luke continues to work for the US-based Environmental Investigation Agency on an investigation in eastern Europe into the sourcing of biomass for 'renewable energy' from the EU's last intact, old-growth forests.  At our meeting, he will discuss plans to permanently protect Victoria's unique forests from future and existing threats. Not to be missed!

Our meeting will be held at Hawthorn Library (meeting room 2) on Wed 19 November.  We'll start at 6.30pm with some time to catch up over pizza, platters and drinks (all provided) before Luke's presentation starts at around 7:15pm.  Following our guest speaker, we will discuss current environmental issues and our group's priorities for next year.

It's been a challenging time for nature lovers as we see state, federal, and global decisions falling well short of what we need for a thriving, stable world.  Let's come together in solidarity to celebrate some wins and make big plans for future action.

We do hope you can make it!

Julia, Helen, Colette and Bron
