In May 2022, The Albanese Labor Government promised to strengthen Australia’s national environment laws, yet in February 2024 the Queensland Government approved one of the largest coal mines in Australia, Winchester South, which will generate more pollution in the mine's lifetime than every source in Australia does in a year. With the Labor Government continuously approving new coal mines, we can't count on them to do what's right for nature.
