This 4.5km walk on the eastern slopes of One Tree Hill, overlooking Strathfieldsaye village, will be through picturesque bushland. The first half of the walk is on a well-maintained gravel vehicle track with some steep undulations while the second half is on a narrow and rocky single track along a ridge, below One Tree Hill summit, with frequent views to Leanganook and Mount Ida, until the path descends to the carpark. There is early wattle and lots of colourful fungi to enjoy along the way.
It's recommended to bring nordic poles and sports shoes or boots. Be prepared for a few strenuous climbs.
The meeting place can be approached from Flora Hill (Bendigo) or from Sedgewick direction to Tannery Lane, Mandurang.
