The ACF Deakin community is a relatively new one, having been established only last year. However, our list of achievements since then is HUGE!
In the lead up to the federal election we ran a successful Candidates Forum, put up over 200 yard signs saying Yes to Protecting Nature, Yes to Renewables, No to Nuclear and No to New Coal and Gas, gave out almost 8000 climate scorecards and encouraged over 300 people to pledge to vote of climate and nature.
More recently, our members have been participating in weekly rallies across Deakin, Menzies and Chisholm electorates to protest against Woodside's North West Shelf extension.
And, tomorrow, a small group of us have a face to face meeting with Matt Gregg, the newly elected Federal Labor member for Deakin to discuss Australia's outdated nature laws!

Why is McDonalds Croydon the venue? Because, aside from being in Deakin, it's FREE!!! We get to use their party/events room for 90 minutes and it costs ACF nothing! That's more money available to go toward more important ACF activities. Plus, if you want to buy yourself some food or drink, it's right there.
Don't live in Deakin? No problem! People from other electorates are most welcome to join us. The more, the merrier, but please remember to RSVP, so we know how many to expect.
