We're celebrating the end of ACF Investigates 2026! 🥳
ACF Investigates is a citizen science project that brings together a community of nature-loving digital sleuths who help uncover deforestation by classifying satellite imagery and gathering data on their phone or desktop. Australia is a world leader in nature destruction but we’re also a big country which makes it easy for bulldozers to destroy the forests and bushland we love unseen and undocumented. That’s where ACF Crowd Sourced Investigations comes in!
Since we launched ACF Investigates 2026 at the end of March, our community of over 1500+ ACF Investigators from over 38 countries around the world have:
🔍 So far, scanned an area of land 1.5 times the size of Tasmania for signs of land clearing
🐨 Helped us quickly identify a case of potentially illegal bulldozing of koala habitat in New South Wales that we’ve since reported to state and federal authorities
📻 Been featured on national radio
🌳 Uncovered thousands of potentially illegal cases of land clearing that we are looking into and will be reporting to appropriate authorities
As you can tell, we've got lots to celebrate and we'll be making it fun (did someone say trivia and games?). At the live stream we'll be:

When: Thursday 28th May 6.30-7.30pm AEST, that’s a start time of 6.30pm in NSW, VIC, QLD, ACT and TAS, 6pm in SA and NT and 4.30pm in WA.

This event is open to people who have taken part in any of the ACF Investigates projects we've run in the past and those who haven't participated but are keen to come along, find out more and join in the festivities.
