[AustralianSuper], hold polluters to account!

Tuesday 26 March 2024

This March, we have a big opportunity to use our people power to move money out of polluting industries.

Australia’s big polluters, like gas giant Woodside, are hell-bent on pumping out more climate pollution with massive new climate wrecking gas projects.

Our super funds are major investors and shareholders in Woodside. With Woodside's Annual General Meeting (AGM) coming up, our super funds  need to hear from us  – the people whose retirement savings they hold  – now.

That's why we are heading to super fund offices, like AustralianSuper, to urge them to loudly hold Woodside to account for its climate pollution. Will you join us outside AustralianSuper Melbourne's office for this short, respectful and fun morning action?

This event is open to all our community – regardless of whether you have your super with AustralianSuper or another fund.

Here's what to expect:

  • Connect with others in the ACF community who care about holding climate polluters to account
  • Hear from ACF's Corporate Campaign Program Manager, Jolene Elberth, on how we can urge our super funds to invest in a safe, thriving climate future for us all
  • Hand out copies of the What Woodside Tried to Hide report to AustralianSuper staff and members of the public passing by
  • Take part in a big group photo for us to use to amplify our message further online.

After the action, a delegation of AustralianSuper members will head into the office to deliver the super fund open letter (signed by over 8,000 people!) If you are an AustralianSuper member and would like to be involved in this delegation or otherwise help with the event, please let us know after RSVPing. Everyone else is welcome to stay for an optional coffee nearby.
