Councils plant and maintain street trees. Residents can help those trees thrive by replacing the grass on the verge with a low-maintenance, native verge garden.
But what do you do when it's all grass and there is no concrete path? You still have to leave a path for pedestrians. And all that grass means lots of edges.
This is a very large verge at the beginning of a conversion. No concrete path adds to the challenge. The initial steps have been to plant around the new street trees.
