A little while back we put the call out for shareholders to help us file resolutions that asked CommBank to stop financing deforestation…and our supporters answered! We have smashed our target and have almost three times the number of shareholders we needed – so we’re celebrating. Right outside of CommBank’s offices in Sydney with a resolution launch party. Will you join us?
There’ll be music, banners and party blowers – all drawing the attention of bank staff and passers-by to the forest destruction CommBank is enabling, and the fact we’re doing something about it by putting deforestation on the agenda at their AGM.
ACF People Power Sydney are then going to hand deliver the unofficial paperwork to CommBank and we’ll head to the pub afterward to toast the successful filing and hear about what’s next! Dress like you would for a party, we'll supply the gold party hats and cake!
Whether you’re a shareholder co-filing the resolution or this is the first time you’ve been a part of the campaign, this is the perfect time to come together and show our power as everyday people fighting for change.
Then, like everyone else knocking off work in the afternoon after a job well done, we'll head to a nearby pub for drinks and to hear from some of the people who made this happen.
