On 5 June, millions of people around the world will celebrate World Environment Day.
Join the ACF community to come together and celebrate the global day for standing up and speaking out to protect the places we love. We’ll hear how community action is building people power to #StopAdani.
The evening will include storytelling, performance and the launch of Repower Australia the movement’s latest plan to transition Australia to clean, renewable energy from the sun, wind and waves.

Speakers
Gavan McFadzean
Gavan has been a climate change and nature protection activist for over 20 years and has played a key role in old growth forest campaigns in four states, the protection of Cape York and the Kimberley, World Heritage, marine protected areas and Australia’s remaining intact river systems. He has represented Australian environmental NGOs at international climate and nature protection negotiations. He now head up ACF’s climate change and clean energy program.
Daisy Barham
Daisy is the Campaigns Director with the Nature Conservation Council of NSW. She has been an ACF NSW Councillor since 2015. Daisy first volunteered for an environmental group as a teenager and environmental advocacy has been a core part of her life since then. For the past 6 years she's worked with national and state-based organisations in Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory to protect our marine life. Daisy is working towards a society where future generations will see more wildlife in our forests and fish in our seas.
Matt Wicking
Matt is a musician who uses his Bachelor of Psychology and Commerce and Master of Environment to foster 'important or difficult conversations' around progressive issues. Matt runs discussions, retreats and workshops where he uses his music to help people talk, communicate and connect better. He also facilitates the Future Makers Fellowship, a nine-month sustainability leadership course for 25 people who want to have a positive impact on the world.
