Discovery Coast Environment Group is hosting a screening of the documentary Guarding the Galilee. The event will be held at Sol Foods Cafe Friday 12 May 2017 from 5:30pm.
Being at the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef, the proposed mine will potentially impact the community of Agnes Water on both a social and environmental level. We are aiming to inform the community of these impacts and promote an open and honest discussion. We will also be providing information on actions that may be taken after the event to help the #stopadani cause.
We will be setting up a panelist table to encourage friendly discussion and debate following the screening. The panel will consist of Stephen Bennet MP; Angel Owen, active member of SEED and AYCC; Amber Lowcock, Sitting Co-Chair of Discovery Coast Environment Group; and Genevieve Olle, local Environmental Scientist.
