Join us on the last planting day of the Gardiners Creek Reserve Biodiversity Project in 2026.
The Kooyongkoot Alliance, with a grant from the State Governments Green Links Program, together with the Urban Guerrillas, Friends of Gardiners Creek Reserve and local community groups, are restoring 1.2 ha (12,000m2) of neglected habitat, alongside a section of Gardiners Creek in Gardiners Creek Reserve, Burwood.
Please come along and join us for a morning of regeneration through planting and weed removal along the side of the creek (so we do not have to spray near sensitive water areas). It’s not all hard work, we also have guest speakers to talk about what positive actions are being taken to care for the creek and the fauna that will benefit, and a free BBQ, supplied by Deakin Uni and prepared by Box Hill Central Rotary, to finish up.
Please RSVP to Urban Guerillas as well via https://events.humanitix.com/gardiners-creek-reserve-biodiversity-project
Park at Car Park 6 Deakin Uni, Gardiners Creek Reserve, Burwood Follow signs north of the car park across the park bridge to the planting site.
It's great being able to do something practical for nature locally. The BBQ afterwards gives us another opportunity to discuss the importance for both nature and climate of saving Scott Reef and stopping Woodside's Browse Project.
