Enjoy a quiet relaxing walk in the bushland around Winton Wetlands in Vermont with the Eastern Rosellas ACF community group, chat to others who care about our environment. Learn more about the history of Dandenong Creek and our local plants and wildlife.
The wetlands are very dynamic environments that undergo large natural changes seasonally and from year to year depending on rainfall and flooding. At present they are rather dry.
Winton Wetlands supports several different Ecological Vegetation Types including Valley Heathy Forest, Swampy Woodland and Swampy Riparian Woodland.
Many rare birds visit the site including Greater Egret, Lathams Snipe and Powerful Owl.
Family/significant others are most welcome.
After the walk we hope you will be able to join us for snacks, a cuppa and a chat.
