Kids and kids at heart! Come on a Nature Quest & Treasure Hunt as you walk around the stunning Nangak Tamboree Wildlife Sanctuary.
This 'Walkshop' is a combination of a walk and a workshop run by Eastern Rosellas group, where kids and their families get a chance to be active and do activities to learn more about endangered animals.
- Go treasure hunting for special animals - some could be photos, some live if you stay quiet and look carefully.
- Make your own animal - Modelling with air clay and natural materials
- Learn about endangered animals by colouring and drawing them
- Listen to stories about Australia's special animals
- Get enthusiastic about ACF's upcoming Wild at Art Competition for primary students (ages 5 -12), which opens for entries on 22 June 2026

From our previous Nature Quest at Blackburn Lake
Arrive at a time that suits you within the 10am to 1pm window. Bring a picnic if you like. We have booked to use Yellow Box Hut, located near the entrance as our activities base for the day. We will have exclusive access to the Sanctuary for the day.

Nangak Tamboree (nan-nyack tam-bor-ee) means respecting, sharing and looking after the waterway in Woiwurrung language of the Wurundjeri people. There are over 500 species of indigenous plants and 355 native vertebrate animals recorded in the Wildlife Sanctuary's 30 hectare site.
