Calling all people who want to help solve the climate crisis and protect our nature and wildlife!

Are you feeling inspired to take action on this momentous opportunity of a new government to take positive climate action? Are you a bit unsure where to start?

Join us in for an interactive training event and community capacity building at Activate 2022!

Change happens when people get engaged and come together to shape the world they want to see. People power can raise our government’s ambition for real, long-lasting outcomes for climate and nature.

We have seen a significant positive shift for climate action in the federal election. The continuous hard work of grassroots communities advocating for people and nature have played a huge part in making this necessary and urgent move forward in the national agenda.

Now we’re inviting you to build the skills and connections your community needs to speak out for the places we love.

What is Activate 2022?

Activate 2022 will bring together anyone who cares for our environment and climate crisis to discuss, exchange ideas and collaborate to find better solutions. Everyone has valuable experiences, knowledge, and skills in a variety of fields. These differences are the diverse assets required for building people's power, enacting powerful changes, and collaborating to combat the climate crisis. In the Activate 2022 training, we will explore how we can draw upon our own experiences and expertise to help organise our communities and build power locally to help create effective actions that can create change.

Find out about our Activate Training:

What:  A two-day training event with interactive discussion and participatory learning

When: 26-27 November 2022, 9am - 4.30pm

Where: Conference Room, Level 3, 1/9 Buckingham St, Surry Hills NSW 2010

Cost: Activate Sydney is free to attend, but if you make a donation to cover the cost of participating that is hugely appreciated. After signing up to Activate Sydney you will be invited to make an optional donation, if this is available to you.

What to expect at Activate Training:

  • We’ll share the fundamentals of building people power, including how to contribute to the running of an effective, structured, and fun group, how to have persuasive conversations, and how to grow our national movement for change.
  • We’ll delve deep into our strategy to stop digging and burning coal, rapidly transition to 100% clean energy, and protect Australia’s unique natural places – and how you can be a part of it.
  • We’ll also provide lunch, snacks, and plenty of stories!

Come and join us, and let’s act together to save the nature we depend on, and make greater changes in our communities, wider societies and our country.
