We wanted to invite you and your family to join us for a special morning of hiking and art at Toohey Forest in Brisbane's Southside.

What: Toohey Forest kids’ hike & art 🎨
When: Sunday 28 July, 9-11am
Where: Toohey Forest

Can you make it?

We'll have our three kids with us - aged 2, 12 and 13 Come join us!

We'll meet at the Toohey Picnic Area and walk the Toohey Ridge trail.

It's an easy, pram accessible walk - it's 3km long but we'll turn around after about half an hour and head back to our starting point before little legs get too tired.

Afterwards, stick around for some kids art activities and morning tea. ☕🍪 We'll bring tea and coffee supplies - please bring a small plate of food to share.

We'll bring some art supplies along to participate in Wild At Art, Australia’s biggest wildlife art competition for children. Kids will be invited to create an original artwork of one of Australia's many threatened native animals or plants.

Kids aged 5-12 can enter the official Wild At Art competition by submiting their artwork by Monday 12 August.

We want to make our hikes welcoming and inclusive for all carers. Here’s what to expect.

  • All carers are welcome
    • We welcome all mums, dads, partners, step-parents, foster parents, carers and friends.
  • No family left behind
    • We know hiking with children can bring unique challenges. If you need to stop to change a nappy or to feed, no worries. We’ll stop and take a break.
  • Welcome circle introductions
    • Our hikes begin with a Welcome Circle, where we introduce ourselves and our families and set the intention for our time together.

Please RSVP using the form on this page so we know how many people to expect.

Happy hiking,

Emma and Matt
