We know that nature is in crisis. Nature underpins our lives, our health, our climate and our economy. It's the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat and the places we escape to.

ACF Community Central Victoria is collaborating with Birdlife Australia to host a community forum on the reform of our national nature laws. Our existing laws have failed to adequately protect nature or to prevent extinctions.

This forum will provide an important opportunity for the community to hear from nature experts and to show our federal Member of Parliament, Lisa Chesters, that we support strong nature law reform.

On the panel, you'll hear from:

  • Brendan Sydes, ACF National Biodiversity Policy Advisor
  • Lisa Chesters, Federal MP for Bendigo
  • Sean Dooley, Birdlife National Public Affairs Manager
  • Kelsey Macdonald, Loddon Mallee Youth Climate Network
  • Josh Meadows, ACF Media Advisor will be our MC.

You'll be able to ask questions of the panel. There will be light refreshments and information tables from local nature-focused organisations to mingle about before and after the panel discussion. This is a great opportunity for networking, and to showcase the many groups protecting and rehabilitating nature in the Bendigo electorate.

Join us for this dynamic event to demonstrate broad and enthusiastic community support for strong laws to protect nature. Let's encourage our elected representative, Lisa Chesters to champion the recovery of habitats and species in Central Victoria.

When: Saturday 31 August. 1.30pm for a 2pm panel start.

Where: The Gallery, La Trobe University Bendigo Campus Library. Google Map location here.

Transport: Vehicles can enter by Gate 4 in Edwards Road Flora Hill and turn immediately into Carpark 1 for free parking.
Public Transport users catch Bus 62 which leaves the Bendigo Railway Station bus terminus several minutes after the arrival of the 11.06 Southern Cross train stopping all stations from Sunbury.
The RSVP email has more detailed information.

Register early for this timely event as places are limited and will fill quickly!
