The meeting starts at 7 pm, but all are welcome to join us from 6 pm for a light meal at Cellini’s Café and Bar, Queen Victoria Building opposite Hobbyco Level 2 - look for Citizens' Climate Lobby T-shirts.
At the meeting we will show a 15-minute film of a talk by UNSW Professor Matt England “Our Warming Oceans and the Planet’s Future”, to be followed by discussion led by Oceanography expert Dr Veronique Lago, who worked as a post doc with Prof England.
The ocean plays an important part in the global climate that deserves more attention than it usually gets.

* Outreach plans and activities: Interacting with Local and State Governments
* Exchange of ideas and experiences
* Again if time permits, those who want to stay for another film are invited to watch the 30-minute version of “Accelerate" by the internationally renowned Bill McKibben, founder of 350.org and holder of honorary degrees from 18 colleges and universities.
The two films are life affirming because of the strength of the people presenting them.
Generally Citizens' Climate Lobby members stimulate each other to get political will to make a future liveable world. We raise awareness with voters, write letters to the press, try and interact with community leaders including elected representatives at all levels of government.
We will do some non-partisan door-knocking and letter-boxing to help make climate the main conversation before the election, especially in the marginal electorate of Banks.
Finding solutions to mitigate global warming is an urgent matter and all ideas are welcome.
