Dear All

This is about a meeting starting 7 pm this evening Tuesday 22 September 2020.

Meetings of Citizens' Climate Lobby are held online at 7 pm fourth Tuesday of each month.

I am pleased to announce that in the absence of guest speaker, Linda Burney, Ms Maree Nutt OAM and Community Leader Mr Jim Allen have kindly agreed to step in and conduct a workshop on the How and Why of getting letters to newspapers published.

Letter writing is very important, because politicians respond to the mood of the people whom they represent. If letter writing is not your thing, don't worry, your thoughts will be taken up be experienced letter writers, may get published, and may be the straw that breaks the camel's back in the fight against lack of political will.

There is certainly a thrill in store for you when you get your letter published!

Mr Jim Allen is State Coordinator for Citizens' Climate Lobby in South Australia and has a great deal of experience coordinating letter writers and getting letters published.

Ms Maree Nutt is a former CEO of an advocacy organisation, RESULTS Australia. RESULTS works to influence policy and mobilise resources to fight diseases of poverty and achieve equitable access to health. The founder of Citizens' Climate Lobby, Marshall Saunders, modelled CCL advocacy techniques on those of RESULTS.

Jim and Maree are both experienced and avid writers who will share their top tips.

At some stage of the meeting, we introduce ourselves, tell of any good news, and long-time members explain to newcomers how Citizens' Climate Lobby advocacy for action on climate change complements protest demonstrations.

You will have opportunities to have your say.

Hoping to see you there!
