Sunday 1 December 2019
10:30am - 12:30pm
Linear Park
Junction of Oliver Avenue and Riverway, Fulham Gardens, SA 5024, Australia

ACF Community members from Adelaide’s western suburbs would love you to join them at a gathering to connect with nature & each other!

Our meeting place will be the junction of Riverway and Oliver Avenue Fulham Gardens, on the northern side of Linear Park.

ACF Community volunteers will be hosting an exploratory walk (from 10:45am) along both sides of the river and through the local wetlands. We'll have the opportunity to discuss the importance of these preserved natural areas in sustaining a healthy environment and maintaining species diversity - both essential to beginning to counter threats to our natural world.

After the walk (around 11:30am) we'll have a picnic brunch back at the original meeting place - Please bring something to share if you can. This will be a chance to learn about the history of ACF (formed in 1968) and consider how our local initiative is assisting ACF's national objectives of maintaining and improving our environment and reducing our dependence on fossil fuels.

For those with space in their gardens we will have native plants available which provide food and shelter for local wildlife. We will have a selection of suitable acacias, melaleucas and a leptospermum for purchase - Two seedlings for a gold coin. These plants have been propagated by the Walkerville Rotary Club.

This is planned to be the first of a regular events series as we discover or rediscover and explore the many special locations in our suburbs - information about future events will be available on the day! We'd also love to hear your ideas about future events and what we might do as a group together moving foward.

We look forward to seeing you there!

This event is hosted by members of the ACF Community, as part of a network of independently organised, volunteer-run groups. ACF will pass on your contact details to the host for the purpose of running the event.
