Who are the candidates vying to represent the electorate of Macnamara in Parliament at the next election? And where do they stand on climate change?

Here’s your chance to find out! The #ClimateElection is heating up. And in the electorate of Macnamara, candidates from the Liberal/National Coalition, Labor and the Greens are coming together to face their community at the Macnamara climate election candidates' forum.

This is an opportunity to demonstrate a groundswell of community support for courage and action ahead of the federal election in May.

The event is free but registration is essential! Will you join us?

The evening will include a lively discussion and a Q&A session with the audience. We'll be joined by candidates from the Liberal-National Coalition, Labor and the Greens:

Josh Burns – Australian Labor Party
Steph Hodgins-May – The Australian Greens
Kate Ashmor – Liberal Party of Australia

We'll also be joined by these special guests:

Fiona Armstrong – Climate and Health Alliance
Simon Holmes à Court – Energy Transition Hub
Eloisa Moses-McMahon – Albert Park College student

The panel will be moderated by Peter Mares, independent writer, researcher and former ABC broadcaster.

ACF has partnered with our friends in the following community groups to host this candidates' forum: Stop Adani Macnamara, ACF Community Macnamara, Australian Youth Climate Coalition Macnamara, unChain, Port Phillip EcoCentre, Port Phillip Alliance for Sustainability, Community Alliance of Port Phillip, and Locals Into Victoria’s Environment.

This is your chance to meet the candidates vying for your vote and ask them your pressing questions about their plans to stop climate damage.

If enough concerned citizens turn up to the forum, candidates will know they need to step up with better climate policies.

So let’s pack out the venue – RSVP now!
