The Arboretum was officially opened on World Forestry Day on the 21st of March 1925.

This year, Sherwood Arboretum is celebrating 100 years and will be hosting a big anniversary celebration on March 23, 2025.

BUT WHY WAIT THAT LONG WHEN WE CAN VISIT A LITTLE EARLIER!

Join members of the ACF Brisbane South and Logan community group as we ramble through the heritage-listed Arboretum, with its iconic avenue of towering Queensland Kauri pines.
The Arboretum is home to one of the nation’s most valuable collections of Australian native trees.
The collection of more than 1000 specimen trees and spread across the Arboretum’s planting communities, ranging from wet rainforest to open eucalypt forest.

Today, the Assistant Curator of Brisbane Botanic Gardens manages this unique showcase of northern Australian trees.
