[AGM action:] tell NAB to divest from Coastal GasLink

Friday 17 December 2021
12:00pm - 01:00pm
NAB headquarters
700 Bourke St, Docklands, VIC 3000, Australia
Get directions

Members of the Wet’suwet’en Nation are calling on supporters in Melbourne to stand with them and help shine a light on NAB’s destructive lending on the day of the bank’s Annual General Meeting.

By funding the Coastal GasLink project in Canada – which will create millions of tonnes of CO2, and risks irreparable damage to the culture and sacred sites of the Wet’suwet’en Nation – NAB continues to enable profit-driven polluters, no matter the costs to climate and culture.

Join in this solidarity action outside NAB's Melbourne head office in support of the Wet’suwet’en Nation’s ongoing resistance to this dangerous project, and to highlight NABs irresponsible lending to polluting and dangerous expansionary gas overseas.

This is an unbranded event, keeping to the theme of showing solidarity to the Wet’suwet’en people. Please don’t bring any off-topic banners or t-shirts.

If you would like to make a banner or share a message, you can use the following:

  • 'Solidarity with Wet’suwet’en'
  • 'NAB Divest from CoastalGasLink Now'
  • 'NAB: Respect Indigenous Sovereignty'

This event is organised by 350 Australia, the Australian Youth Climate Coalition and the Australian Conservation Foundation.

Stay Covid-safe Melbourne: Check in with the QR code, social distance if you can, and use hand sanitizer. Please don't attend if you've been in close contact with or diagnosed with COVID, or feel unwell or are experiencing any COVID symptoms (including fever, shortness of breath, flu-like symptoms such as coughing, sore throat or fatigue).
