Right now is a crucial time for us all to be speaking up for strong nature laws, as the Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek prepares for the government’s response to the scathing once-in-a-decade review of our environment laws, and prepares to join the United Nations Biodiversity Conference in December.
Help demonstrate to your Member of Parliament (MP) Josh Burns that protecting and restoring nature is a big local priority. Join this local delivery event to hand over the petition for strong nature laws, signed by 500,000+ people across Australia.
Here’s what to expect at your local delivery event:
- Meet your ACF community host and other like-minded people who care about protecting and restoring nature.
- Head into your MP’s office as a group to drop off the custom nature laws petition for that electorate – along with personalised messages of why you care about a world where people and planet thrive – to your MP’s staff. You might even bump into your MP and get a quick chat in!
- Debrief as a group on how the local delivery event went, and grab a nice group photo at the end.
