Q&A Nature Forum: protecting our iconic wildlife

Australia is home to incredible places and wildlife found nowhere else on Earth.

Nature underpins our lives, our health, our climate and our economy. It's the air we breathe, the water we drink, the food we eat and the places we escape to.

But nature in Australia is in trouble – and so are we.  Join ACF Eastern Sydney for this huge night for nature and put your questions directly to those who can shape our national nature laws so that they actually protect the places and creatures we love.

We need your questions for the panel - submit them here NOW!

At this Q&A Nature Forum you'll hear from:

  • Allegra Spender, MP for Wentworth
  • Matt Thistlethwaite, MP for Kingsford-Smith
  • Brendan Sydes, ACF National Biodiversity Policy Advisor,
  • Natasha Abhayawickrama, AYCC organiser and campaigner, and
  • ACF Community Eastern Sydney representative Dr Stephen Lightfoot

And you will be entertained by local hip hop artist Cocoa the Conscious (you don't want to miss this).

Submit your question before June 19!

We'll spend the evening discussing our national nature laws, and how we can create nature laws that actually protect nature.

Bulldozing of bush and forest, invasive species and fires, floods and drought fuelled by climate change are destroying nature and driving wildlife to extinction. Australia has one of the worst extinction rates on Earth, and it’s getting worse.  Places we love like the Murray Darling River system and Great Barrier Reef are being so badly damaged they can no longer support the people, plants and animals that depend on them.

ACF Eastern Sydney has spent the last year championing the Southern Right Whale, a local species at risk of extinction in our own backyard. We're doing everything we can to turn around our failing nature laws in time to protect this beautiful creature. There are only 270 left in the south eastern Australian population, so we have to act quickly.

Together we can protect the nature and wildlife that still flourish in our big backyard, and work together to restore the places and ecosystems that have been damaged.

Join us for an impactful and unforgettable evening.
