Join us for a walk in the in the Goughs Range State Forest near Maldon and marvel at the capacity of Nature to restore itself (although slowly) from the mining that has disrupted this area. The everlastings, yam daisies, myrtles, bush peas, creamy candles and some orchids are blooming and the moss and lichen will have enjoyed this weekends rains.
The RSVP email will have directions from Bendigo (40 minutes) and Castlemaine (20 minutes) to the meetup.
We will start from where we park the cars on this 5km easy-medium loop walk. We will walk for approximately 2 hours. The walk starts with a climb then dips down and up with easy, mostly flat stretches. There are some great views of Mt Tarrengower and Cairn Curran Reservoir as well as the region to the south to Guilford Plateau.
Wear sturdy footwear, suitable clothing, bring drinking water and protect yourself from sun, wind and rain.
The walk will take approximately 2.5 hours with a snack stop.
We like to carpool if possible. Details on the RSVP.
