Here’s the plan:
Open Letter
We have an open letter calling on Senators to demand these nature laws are strengthened before they pass Parliament. After years of delays, Labor has introduced weak laws with too many loopholes. This is our last chance to get this right, and Senators have the power to push for the inquiry and amendments that nature desperately needs.
We want Senators and MPs flooded with letters signed by their constituents. We want them to hear our voices demanding bold action that actually protects the people, places and animals we love.
- Sign the open letter.
- Ask your friends, family, colleagues – everyone you know - to do the same! Every signature matters!
- Reach out to your networks: ask your local sports club, school, church, or drama society.
You can also sign up to hand-deliver the open letter right here. It’s a simple and effective way to show your elected representative that you care.
ACF Community Groups around Australia will be running fun and engaging events encouraging their community to do the same. You can find out if there is a group in your local area and attend their activities right here.
Download our guide or check out our resources for groups and supporters on different ways you can engage with your MP. You can also download a copy of the open letter here.
Join our Digital Nature Response network
We are building a network of people around Australia who can take action online. We’ll send you a text message every week that outlines what action you can take with your phone or your home computer!
This might look like:
- Sharing an explanatory video on your socials with your friends.
- Commenting on your local MP’s social media about why you love nature and want to protect and restore it.
- Other chances to get active for nature online and in your community.
Let us know if you can:
- Get your community group to sign the open letter (e.g., sports club, faith community)
- Drop off open letters at your Senator's or MP's office
- Attend a constituent meeting with your Senator or MP
- Join the Digital Nature Response Network
