Join Us for the Platy-Project Walk in Centennial Park! 🦆🌱
Every year, ACF Eastern Sydney joins the national Platy-project, an ACF citizen science initiative to help us learn more about Australia’s much-loved platypus. While we haven’t spotted a platypus in Centennial Park yet (funny that 🤣), the walk is still a wonderful way to connect with nature and learn more about the wildlife right on our doorstep.
🌿 This year’s walk highlights:
-
Led by Ruth, an ACF Eastern Sydney member with many years of hands-on bush regeneration experience in Centennial Park
-
Special guest Dr Paddy Lightfoot, a native plant expert and keen birder, who will share his encyclopedic knowledge of the plants and birds we encounter along the way
-
A chance to join fellow nature-lovers, enjoy a gentle walk, and contribute to the national conversation about protecting our unique platypus populations
📍 Meeting point: The Spruce Goose Diner, Centennial Park
Come along for a relaxed and informative morning in Centennial Park. While it's unlikely we will find a platypus, we’ll definitely discover plenty of fascinating birds and plants together.
Bring your walking shoes, curiosity, and a pair of binoculars!
