Australians care deeply for nature
We love our towering forests, crystal-clear beaches, and unique wildlife. Remarkably, half of Australia's economy, approximately $900 billion, depends on nature too. It’s our life support system and it’s in big trouble.
A healthy natural world depends on a safe climate, and for governments and communities to actively work to minimize harm and restore nature along the way.
There are legitimate concerns about some renewables projects leading to habitat destruction and impacting wildlife. But we have all the tools for a better way – to prioritise nature when new renewables are built, and create more habitat for wildlife.
Coal and gas locks in more fires like Black Saturday, cyclones and floods, and habitat destroying open-cut mines, pipelines and fracking wells. Nature can't withstand that.
Renewables are the only energy option that can protect and restore our natural world.
