Fix our Nature Laws!
After years of delays and broken promises, Labor just introduced new nature laws to Parliament last week. But they’re not good enough.
The draft laws have too many loopholes that benefit big polluters and bulldozers. Parliament has to work to get it right. That’s why ACF is calling for a proper Senate inquiry so we can ensure Australia’s national nature law actually does what it says on the tin: protects nature.
Join us on Friday 21 November at Senator Charlotte Walker and Senator Karen Grogan's offices, where we'll hand-deliver our nature laws open letter and speak to our SA senators about our key asks:
✅ Stop extinctions and restore nature so animals, people and communities can thrive.
✅ End the deforestation loopholes that enable rogue bulldozing of our forests and woodlands.
✅ Independent and accountable decision making that stops big polluters dodging the law and puts an end to illegal bulldozing.
✅ Embeds climate harm in decision-making, to protect communities and wildlife from bleaching, algae blooms, fires and floods.
Join us for this community event to demand strong nature laws and real climate leadership. We need to show that the community cares and is willing to get together to demand more action!
When: Friday 21 November, 12.30pm - 2pm
Where: Starting at the office of Senator Charlotte Walker, Commonwealth Parliament Offices, Suite 4, Level 13, 100 King William Street, Adelaide, 5000
