Save Pristine Scott Reef

Stop Woodside’s Polluting Gas Project

Join us on the 2nd of November for a showing of Corals’ Last Stand, panel discussion and Q&A. This is a community event to inform us all on how we save Scott Reef by stopping Woodside’s polluting and destructive Browse Project.

Speakers are: Nicolette Boele, Federal MP Bradfield; Oscar Nellist, Sydney Students for Climate; Dr Justin Bowra, Doctors for the Environment; Ursula Crawley, Parents for Climate.

WHY STOP THIS GAS PROJECT: Woodside’s Browse gas project proposal at Scott Reef would be disastrous for nature and climate, turning one of Australia’s pristine and most spectacular marine ecosystems into an industrial gas hub. This will put endangered whales, turtles and hundreds of other marine species at risk. If approved, Woodside’s drilling at Scott Reef would unleash around 1.6 billion tonnes of climate pollution over its operational life, that’s four times Australia’s total annual emissions!

Woodside’s proposed Browse project could expose almost one million more people to unprecedented heat and kill over 29 million individual coral colonies on the Great Barrier Reef every time there is a bleaching event, according to estimates by a new climate impact tool.

WHERE: Online Zoom event on 2 November, starting 6:30 to 8:15pm – Zoom link to be sent closer to the event date.
