Need some time out from the stress of what is going on the world just now?
Join the Australian Conservation Foundation's Brisbane South Group, and take a breath in the forest.
Immerse yourself in nature for a gentle and explorative walk through the Seven Hills Bushland Reserve.
For our May Ramble, we are excited to have Frank Coman as our guide.
NUMBERS ARE LIMITED SO PLEASE BOOK TICKETS VIA HUMANITIX
Frank is a biologist with CSIRO who works mainly on marine ecosystems, specialising in plankton.
Frank has always had a keen interest in all animals and plants, and he has been involved with the Perrin Creek/Seven Hills Reserve Bush care group for over 15 years.
Frank is also passionate about our Australian birdlife and for our Ramble, he will be sharing his knowledge of our local birds. Frank is a frequent visitor to the Reserve, and regularly contributes bird lists from Seven Hills Reserve to eBird.
He has observed over 100 bird species and photographed more than 90 of these species from the reserve.
We will meet next to the boom gate at the entrance to Seven Hills Reserve at the end of Latina Avenue, Seven Hills. The walk will take us along the creek line, which is fairly flat and easy walking, and then up to the ridge along one of the main tracks, and is suitable for people of different walking abilities.
It will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
If you do have binoculars, please bring them along as the birds are often high in trees and/or are quite small.
When: 7:45 am for an 8:00am start
Where: Next to the boom gate at the entrance to Seven Hills Reserve at the end of Latina Avenue, Seven Hills.
Wear: Sturdy footwear, hat, sunscreen and insect repellent
Bring: Water, binoculars
Expect: 2km walk over 2 hours, half flat, half hilly on fire trails
Note: There are no toilets near this bushland. There is a tap on the trail
If you would like to stay for a cuppa afterwards, we will be on the grass at Latina St. Bring some morning tea to share and a camp chair or rug.
