A rare chance to stop Woodside's Browse gas project climate bomb.

For the first time in eight years, Australians have a chance to have their say on one of the country’s most controversial fossil fuel projects – Woodside’s Browse gas project.

This opportunity only exists because the Australian Conservation Foundation successfully asked the Federal Environment Minister to reconsider the project in light of new scientific evidence. Public submissions are now open but only for a limited time.

This is our chance to speak up for our climate, our oceans and our iconic marine life.

To help you make a powerful submission, ACF Eastern Sydney is hosting a snap online workshop.

📅 Thursday 16th July

🕔 5:00 pm – 5:40 pm

💻 Zoom

During this practical session we’ll:

🎙️ explain what the Browse project is and why it matters

📦 unpack ACF’s submission and the key issues

✍🏽 show you how to write an effective submission in your own words

🗣️ answer your questions and help you get started

You don’t need to be an expert. Whether this is your first submission or your fiftieth, we’ll make the process simple and guide you every step of the way.

Reminder - The proposed Browse project would:

😡 lock Australia into decades of new fossil fuel pollution with a massive total of 1.6 BILLION TONNES of climate pollution.

😡threaten globally significant marine ecosystems, including endangered pygmy blue whales, green sea turtles and Scott Reef

😡worsen climate change, increasing the impacts on places like the Great Barrier Reef

😡undermine Australia’s climate commitments and the transition to clean energy

Every submission counts. Governments take notice when thousands of Australians take the time to have their say.

Please join us on Thursday and invite a friend or family member who cares about protecting nature and our climate.

Register here:

Together, let’s send a clear message that Australia doesn’t need another massive gas project.

See you on Thursday,

Cheers

Stephen Lightfoot, ACF Eastern Sydney Convenor & ACF Vice President
