Like many of you, I have found myself feeling devastated and deeply disappointed by recent decisions from the Albanese Labor Government. From approving multi-decades long extensions of polluting gas export projects to and moving too slowly on environmental law reform, this is not the bold leadership on climate that is needed and that was promised.
When I feel hopeless or angry, I know that I can turn to community to find the solace, motivation and inspiration I need to keep fighting! The climate movement is a resilient and determined group of people and that is exactly what we need as we look down the barrel of future announcements. We anticipate that Labor will soon announce it's 2035 targets and release the National Climate Risk Assessment report, which outlines how climate change will affect everyday Australians communities.
We're holding a snap webinar on Friday 12 September 3-4pm AEST for volunteers around the country so we can brainstorm and plan ahead for how we effectively react to these upcoming announcements.
What: Snap webinar - Let's mobilise for climate action!
When: Friday 12 September, 3pm AEST (that’s a start time of 2.30pm in SA and 1pm in WA)
Where: Online via zoom (link provided from RSVP)
Connecting with each other and facing challenges through collective action is the best way we keep momentum and pressure building for a safe climate future for all. Let's do this!
