If you’ve been walking along the Torrens River tracks recently, you may have noticed rubbish piling up in places.
We thought it would be great to get a team of us to do a clean at the Torrens before the next big rain washes it into the ocean.
Walkerville Council has kindly agreed to provide bins at Willow Bend Reserve to deposit the rubbish collected on the day.
So if you're available, let's get out there and try to clean some of this up!
Ability
Medium fitness required. Rocky and steep slopes in places. Slippery.
What to bring
- rubber gloves and metal tongs if you have them*
- wear closed-toe shoes/gumboots and weather-appropriate clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty*
- bucket/bags to collect rubbish in
- water bottle and snack
- hat, sunscreen and mosquito repellant
*It will be important to wear your own rubber gloves and sturdy closed-toe shoes for safety. There may be sharp objects/waste.
