The Australian Conservation Foundation Brisbane South & Logan Community Group (ACFBS&L) invites you to join our Tygum Lagoon Nature Challenge.

This is a fun and friendly event suitable for the entire family. Even your dog on their lead is welcome to come along and join the challenge!

Tygum Park is wheelchair & stroller friendly and has all the essential amenities.

The Tygum Nature Challenge is being held during National Science Week. So, release your inner geek, become Citizen Scientists, observe nature around this beautiful lagoon and at the same time provide Logan City Council with essential information about the health of Tygum Lagoon’s plants and animals. Use your detective skills to look for clues and signs to answer our fun challenge questions.

Your keen powers of observation will be ably assisted by your sidekick, the iNaturalist app.

Come join us … ‘The game is afoot’

PRIZES WILL BE AWARDED FOR THE CHALLENGE.

Other activities - kid’s book reading and free face painting.

A free sausage sizzle (meat and vegan) will be provided by ACFBS&L.

Date: Saturday 20 August

When:10:00am - 2:00pm

Where: Meet at the BBQ/ shelter shed area of the park , from the corner of Tygum Rd & Park Rd, near the green marque with the Australian Conservation Foundation banner.

What: Please wear fully enclosed shoes and hats. Bring along some drinks, snacks, sunscreen & insect repellent.

Other:

  • If required, we will assist you with the setting up of the iNaturalist app.
  • Not keen on apps? No worries, we will have paper alternatives available.
  • Further details re the challenge information will be emailed to eventbrite ticket holders a day before the event.

Important information:

  • This event is suitable for families – parental/guardian supervision required.
  • Please make sure you are aware of the current COVID-19 restrictions and do not attend if you are displaying COVID-19 or cold/flu symptoms.
  • If you can no longer attend, please cancel your booking via eventbrite to free up your space for other people.
