Last week the Albanese government approved Australia’s biggest gas extension project, the Northwest Shelf locking in pollution until 2070! Meanwhile only days later, the National Climate Risk Assessment confirmed what we already feel:
- More frequent and severe heatwaves, droughts and floods.
- Collapsing ecosystems — our coral reefs and forests at risk of irreversible damage.
- Food security under threat.
It’s terrifying! And just yesterday the Albanese government announced weak climate targets, which fall significantly short on all measures of what’s needed, and condemning Australian communities to ongoing climate harm.
That’s why now, more than ever, we need to come together and show the government that Australians expect urgent, genuine action. Join us for an in-person session transforming concern into power in Perth.
What: Community Mapping – Turn Concern into Power
When: Sunday 5 October, 2–4pm (AWST)
Where: Shenton Park Community Centre, 240 Onslow Road, WA 6008
Together we’ll brainstorm, strategise, and plan how to gather thousands of signatures for ACF’s open letter calling for strong laws that actually protect nature.
We hope to see you there!
