Superb lyrebird display. Nick Hayward, Australian Birdlife

The First Walk:

This walk is being held when the male Lyrebirds dance for the females. It will take about 3 hours.

It will be hosted by Dr. Alex Maisey, a Research Fellow at La Trobe University, who is an expert in Lyrebirds.

After we gather from around 8:40am, 9:00 am, the walk will start from Grants Picnic Ground at about 9:00am. It will follow the Lyrebird Walk,
along the Neumann Track, and then a few hundred metres along Paddy Track. Returning back along the same tracks back to Grants Picnic Ground.

The walk is undulating with some moderately steep sections.

A BYO picnic lunch will be held at Grants Picnic Ground when we return, at around 12:30 pm.

The Second Walk:
This walk is being held in conjunction with St Oswald’s Anglican Church monthly walk. It is about an hour in total.

Starting from Grants Picnic Ground at about 1pm: we will walk along the Margaret Lester all ability walk (about to be fixed) named after a St Oswald’s Parishioner Margaret Lester.

Then before turning back we will continue along the Coles Ridge Track to Lipscombe Brk Track then back along the same track back to Grants Picnic Ground.

This track is wide and follows a ridge, mildly undulating, but fairly flat
