As part of the national platypus survey, Malvern ACF are trying to see how far downstream platypus are (or aren't) to be found in the Yarra.
The place we're choosing is by Eaglemont Tennis Courts, just off Burke road as it crosses the Yarra. This is a couple of miles down from where platypus are regularly sighted (Finns Reserve and Heidelberg). We tried here a couple of years ago without success. This time, we're going to see whether morning viewings are any more successful.
The path behind Eaglemont Tennis Club and Ivanhoe Golf Course offers ready access and clear river views. Will we be in luck?
Come along and help us find out, and enjoy a spring morning in our 'big back yard'.
