Rally outside the Santos AGM & hear from frontline Traditional Owners impacted by Santos’ gas expansion plans.

ACF and Conservation Council SA (CCSA) are holding a rally outside the Santos AGM to send a strong message - no new gas! We need to be phasing out climate polluting fossil fuels, not locking them in.

Meet the speakers:

  • Uncle Jack Green (Garrawa Senior Elder, NT) will be speaking about the decades he has spent fighting for environmental justice in the NT and his concerns about Santos’ Beetaloo fracking plans.
  • Karra Kinchela (Gomeroi Traditional Owner, NSW) will be sharing her determined fight to protect Country and stop the Santos Narrabri Gas project.
  • Joseph Kena'e Ka'au (PNG) will be travelling all the way from PNG to share the concerns of local communities about Santos’ Papua LNG project.
  • Adam Bandt (ACF CEO) will explain why we need to hold climate wreckers to account and phase out fossil fuels now.

Santos is proposing to drill twelve new dirty fracking wells in the Beetaloo Basin, putting precious springs and threatened species at risk. Jack has also warned that Santos’ fracking could have negative impacts on a devil dreaming songline.

But this is just the start. If fracking in the Beetaloo increases to full scale production, eventually thousands of wells could be drilled by Santos and other fracking companies, producing an estimated 1.2 billion tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions over 25 years to 2050.

Come along, help us share the message, and show your support for frontline Traditional Owners. We hope to see you there!

P.S. Join a special Q&A with Uncle Jack Green and Adam Bandt on Friday 17 April, 5pm at the Lion Arts Factory - only 100 seats available so RSVP now!

By registering your RSVP to this event, you give permission to ACF to provide your name to the joint organisers (Conservation Council SA). ACF will not disclose any other information provided by you or stored by ACF.
